[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]7 Reasons RUHM Switched to the RED Camera[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]

When your clients own $100,000 cameras “just for fun,” it’s time to step up your game.

When working with some of the world’s wealthiest investors, quality is paramount. That’s why we switched over to the big guns and armed ourselves with some of the best equipment the film industry has to offer. (All you nerds out there, drool over these tech specs).

Here are the 7 reasons why RUHM emptied its pockets and invested in a RED Epic camera:

1. DYNAMIC RANGE

The Red Camera can see almost as many shades as the human eye (which is insane), allowing us to capture a higher range of lights and darks in each image. In terms of marketing homes and other destinations, this means we can see the ocean through bright, sun-filled windows while having plenty of detail in the dark wood grains surrounding them (our cinematographers call this “dynamic range.”)

2. FUTURE-PROOF

Again, preparing ourselves for future tech developments (we’re smart like that), we wanted to invest in a camera that would not be outdated as soon as we bought it. The RED is built on a modular system, so each component is easily upgradeable when an upgrade is needed. Take that, planned obsolescence![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]

3. DETAIL

Now that 4K TVs are a thing, we wanted to make sure that everything we make can hold up to the absolute highest of resolution standards. The RED shoots at more than four times the definition of Blu-Ray, allowing us to grab every little detail with precision. In short, when you watch our videos, it’s almost as good as real life, even if you’re watching on a ridiculous curved Ultra Hi Def TV.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]Comparing film resolutions: RED EPIC 5K, 4K DCI, Film 2K, HD 720, SD[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Comparison between resolution from the RED Epic and standard industry resolutions.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]

4. VIDPICS

Users stay roughly twice as long when there is video on a page. That’s why we embed video loops (known as Vidpics) alongside still photos, which give an unexpected breath of life to a page. Using RED cameras is the best way to get photo-quality videos, so we can delight everyone who comes across your home.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]

5. “RAW” CONTROL

So the new iPhone 6 shoots in crazy hi-res…right? Not quite. What most people don’t know is that standard digital cameras have to compress and process the hell out of your images, because they lack the computing power to handle all of the raw data they advertise.  The RED, by comparison, hardly touches the data the sensor puts out – giving us what is called “RAW” footage – so we have infinitely more control over color, luminosity, and sharpness when we color grade the video. We can zoom in, lighten dark spots – in short, make each image more like what you would actually see if you were there (but even better).[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type=”in_container” bg_position=”left top” bg_repeat=”no-repeat” scene_position=”center” text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” class=”no-labels”][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text][twentytwenty][/twentytwenty][/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Comparison between DSLR footage and RED footage.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]

6. STYLIZED EFFECT

Slow-motion, that is. The RED can capture 300 frames per second (12.5 times more than standard). And it’s awesome. So now we can do stuff like this. You know, if we wanted to. And we do.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]

7. BROWNIE POINTS

The key to perceived value is giving a product proper context. When you shoot a film for your home on a RED Epic cinema camera, the same one used for Hollywood blockbusters like The Hobbit, you’re making a statement about what your home is worth. As a part of the passionate and close-knit community of RED filmmakers, we at RUHM live to craft meaningful stories and beautiful images that make buyers appreciate your home’s true value.

Our beloved RED equipment is just a small piece of the bigger picture of striving to be remarkable in everything we do.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
